Weekend heats up with occasional T-storms -- Here's when to watch for rain

Warmth will be accompanied by a few chances for some wet weather

1. Warming temperatures continue this weekend
--After a somewhat cooler start with lows around 50° Saturday, the afternoon heats up. Highs will be around 80° Saturday afternoon. Saturday night stays mild with lows in the lower to mid-60s. Sunday will feel like a summer day with highs approaching the mid-80s!

2. Occasional showers or storms both Saturday & Sunday
--There will be a couple windows where you may encounter a few showers or an isolated thunderstorm this weekend. One of those will be Saturday morning. A warm front begins lifting through the area Saturday morning. This will try to touch off some spotty showers in the morning. Saturday afternoon also may have a few hit-or-miss showers or storms as warmer air surges into the area. These would be the pop-up variety like we usually see through the summer. They would be isolated in coverage and the afternoon is not expected to be a washout. However, if you encounter one of these isolated showers/storms, heavy rain will be possible under them.

Saturday night looks quiet and Sunday gets off to a quiet start. We will have a breezy, partly sunny day Sunday. Once temperatures reach the mid-80s, some pop-up showers and storms are possible. The best chance to see those would be the late-afternoon and into the evening.

3. Nice kickoff to the workweek
--High pressure will build into the area Sunday night into Monday. This will bring an end to the risk for showers for a few days. Both Monday and Tuesday are looking dry. The next chance for rain after the weekend doesn't arrive until late-Tuesday into Wednesday. The partly sunny skies will be accompanied by cooler temperatures compared to the weekend highs.
