WATCH: Tracking a few showers tonight

1. A few showers or sprinkles this evening/early overnight
–A cold front will sink through the area this evening into tonight, touching off a few showers and sprinkles. The rain is going to have to battle some dry air to reach the ground. The best chance for a few showers will be Wednesday evening through about 2AM Thursday.

2. Beautiful Thursday
–We will have another dry day with comfortable temperatures Thursday. Skies will range from partly to mostly sunny through the day. Highs will be in the lower 70s.

3. Rain showers returning Friday
–A storm system will work through the area Friday. This brings the best chance for some steadier rain to the area. Friday is looking like a round of showers and storms for the morning commute, followed by more scattered showers through the afternoon. The storm system will bring a chance for a few thunderstorms, too.

BONUS: Some 80° days in the forecast
–Temperatures will feel quite warm Sunday with highs expected to reach the lower to mid-80s. After a brief drop in temperatures early next week, more warmer air surges into the region for the middle and latter half of the upcoming week. Long-range model data suggest the second half of the month turning much warmer than how the month of May began.
