WATCH: Snowflakes return for St. Patrick’s Day weekend

Weather

TURNING COLDER WITH RAIN CHANGING TO SNOW
Scattered rain is likely this evening. Rain showers will mix with snow as temperatures drop into the 30s. Little snow accumulation is expected. Lows by daybreak Saturday will be around 30°. Wind chills will be a factor, dropping to the upper teens/lower 20s through the night.

NOT AS WARM FOR ST. PATRICK’S DAY WEEKEND
Saturday is looking mostly cloudy and cold. We will have highs in the mid-30s. Scattered snow showers and flurries are expected for the area. Little accumulation is expected with any snowfall. At most, an isolated light coating up to an inch is possible, mainly in the snowbelt. Saturday will be blustery and wind chills are expected to hover in the 20s through the day.

You will definitely need a jacket as the kegs are tapped and green eggs and ham served on St. Patrick’s Day. Morning lows will be in the lower to mid-20s with highs near 40° in the afternoon. Most of the day looks dry with partly sunny skies. Clouds increase for the afternoon and an isolated snow flurry or sprinkle of rain is possible in the evening.

STARTING NEXT WEEK CHILLY
The workweek begins with morning lows in the mid-20s Monday morning. It’s shaping up to be another mostly cloudy day. A few snow flurries are possible. Highs will be in the upper 30s.

Tuesday morning will be chilly with lows in the lower 20s. High pressure takes over and helps clear out the clouds. It will be a mostly sunny day with occasional scattered clouds. We warm up to the mid-40s Tuesday afternoon.

LOOKING A BIT UNSETTLED WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY
We are monitoring a storm system that brings the chance for a mix of some rain and snow showers late Wednesday into Thursday. Wednesday will be a mostly cloudy day. The chance for a mix of rain and snow doesn’t arrive until the evening. High Temperatures warm to the mid-40s Wednesday.

The chance for rain and snow continues Wednesday night with lows in the lower 30s.  Any mix that lingers Thursday is expected to be in the morning. Skies will remain mostly cloudy with highs around 40°.

SLOWLY WARMING BY FRIDAY
Behind the mid-week storm system, temperatures overnight Thursday into Friday will dip into the middle 20s. Friday looks dry with a mix of sun and clouds and high temperatures in the upper 40s.
