Youngstown, OH (WYTV) – Allie Adler is just one of those people you want to be around. The Liberty senior is a two sport standout for the Leopards with all kinds of energy on and off the court. Plus, her grades are also spot on, and that’s why she’s our Student Athlete of the Week.
“I just like to make sure everybody’s upbeat honestly,” said Adler. ” To make sure we’re focused but also having fun at the same time, because it’s not even worth it if you’re not having fun I don’t think.”
Allie is a natural leader. She’s a captain on both the softball and volleyball teams at Liberty…and certainly uses her 5 foot 11 frame to her advantage.
“First base is definitely my strength because I am taller so I am able to get the ball if it goes a little bit crazy,” she said. “I have two older brothers so they definitely tossed me around a little bit when I was younger so it helped definitely build up a competitiveness.”
Allie is just as competitive in the classroom. She ranks 5th in her class with a 3.91 GPA, and is Secretary of National Honor Society.
“I think people don’t really take student athletes as seriously as they should because it’s a lot of time you have to put into it, especially if you want to continue to have good grades and be a star on the field.”
After high school, Allie hopes to be a star in the field of law. She’ll attend Ohio University in hopes to become a prosecuting attorney one day.
“I love politics, I love learning about law and all that sort of stuff so it’s my strong point i believe,” said Adler. “This is the only place I have really known. I’ve never gone to another school. It’s definitely bittersweet but it’s a new journey. I’m excited, I’m very excited.”
