Sharon’s rally falls short; season ends at 24-5

Sharon’s rally falls short as the Tigers drop the Class 3A State Semifinal matchup to Lincoln Park, 67-58, at New Castle this evening. The Leopards led by 15 at halftime (38-23) but the Tigers inched their way back to trail by as few as 4 late in the fourth quarter. 

Sharon ends the season at 24-5. Ethan Porterfield led the Tigers’ offense with 23 points. He closes out his prep career as the top scorer in school history. 

Lincoln Park improves to 26-4 and will face the winner of Bishop McDevitt and Trinity on Saturday at 2 pm at the Giant Center in Hershey. The Leopards have now won 8 straight games. They had scored 70-plus points in 20 of their previous 29 games before tonight.
