NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – Niles outlasted Howland 72-69 in overtime Friday night at War Memorial Gymnasium.
Cameron Kane led the Red Dragons with 20 points & 7 rebounds. Muhammad Salaam added 18 points, including a clutch three-point play in overtime. He also racked up 4 rebounds and 2 steals.
Corey Hayes added 14 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
Howland was led by Julian Lanier and Victor Williams who scored 15 points apiece. Lanier also recorded 8 rebounds, while Williams had 5 boards.
Tyler Tamarkin also reached double-figures with 13 in the loss for the Tigers.
Niles improves to 10-8 on the season. The Red Dragons return to action on Saturday at McDonald.
Howland drops to 5-14, and returns to the floor Tuesday against Poland.
