New Castle's Hess Ice Rink in running for free renovation

The winner will be selected by an online poll

NEW CASTLE, Pa. (WYTV) - Hess Ice Rink in New Castle is in the running for a free renovation. 

Sponsored by the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation and Pittsburgh Commercial Construction, the winning ice rink will get $100,000 in materials and construction management services for improvements.

The winner will be selected by an online poll.

Hess Ice Rink opened in January of 1993, and it is the only ice rink in Lawrence County. It started as an outdoor rink. 

Several local hockey teams and figure skaters use the rink. 

The rink would like to add more seating and expand to make space for those who use the rink.
