Salem, OH – (WYTV) – The Salem boys soccer team scored three goals in the final five minutes to pull away from Girard, 5-2 Tuesday in a D2 Sectional Semifinal.

The game was tied 1-1 at halftime, and the Indians took a second half lead on a goal by Brennan Kuzman midway through the half. But the Indians came storming back two minutes later with an equalizer by Andre Tonkinson to make it 2-2.

Then with under five minutes left, Garret Dickey served a corner kick and Aaron Hlavccak poked it in for the go-ahead goal to give the Quakers a 3-2 lead. Less than 15 seconds later, off the kickoff, Max Reghitti dribbled through the Girard defense and scored to extend the lead. Logan Murphy scored the final goal for the Quakers.

Salem advances to play Canfield Saturday at 3:30 PM in the Sectional Finals.
