Hickory’s season ends at 27-2; falling to Imhotep in State Semifinal

Hickory fell to the defending 2-time state champion Imhotep Charter, 65-46, this evening in the PIAA Quad A State Semifinal contest. The Hornets’ season comes to an end at 27-2. Hickory has won their previous 19 games. Isaiah Jarzab led the team with 15 while Donald Whitehead scored 12 and Peyton Mele added 8 points.

For the Panthers (25-6), junior big man Elijah Taylor took game-high honors with 18 points. Within the last year, Taylor has received offers from Big East Tournament runner up Seton Hall and Rutgers just to name a few. Senior Dahmir Bishop, Xavier-bound, totaled 12 points for Imhotep.

On Thursday at 8 pm, the Panthers will face the winner of Bonner-Prendergast and Lower Moreland from the Giant Center in Hershey in the Quad A Championship tilt.
