Harris leads Ursuline Girls past West Branch in battle of premier programs


Jamie Nelson’s three-pointer with just over two minutes left gave Ursuline the lead for good as the Irish held off West Branch 47-43 in the WKBN Game of the Week Wednesday night.

Nelson finished with 6 points in the win. Rachel Fabry likewise tallied a half dozen for the Irish.

Ursuline standout and Pitt recruit Dayshanette Harris led all scorers with 25 points in the victory.

Peyton Alazaus scored a team-high 16 points for West Branch. Grace Heath added 9 in the setback.

West Branch drops to 9-3 overall on the season. The Warriors return to action Friday at Lakeview/

Ursuline improves to 7-4 on the campaign. The Irish will host Canton Central Catholic on Saturday.
