Austin fuels Kennedy to State Finals

Fueled by Maceo Austin’s 19 points in the second half, Kennedy Catholic advances to the Class 6A State Championship game by virtue of their 75-69 victory over Coatesville. Austin closed out his night with a season-high 32 points. Oscar Tshiebwe scored 24 points (10-11 FT) while Mattia Acunzo added 15 for the victorious Golden Eagles. 

Kennedy Catholic (26-3) is set to square off against Pennridge (defeated La Salle College, 52-47) on Saturday at 8 pm from the Giant Center in Hershey. The Eagles are seeking their 4th straight state title.

Coatesville led at the half by 37-32 but were outscored in the second half 43-32. Dapree Bryant tallied a team-high 26 points and Jhamir Brickus – Red Raiders’ point guard – poured in 20.
