Taxi driver in Campbell charged with drugs and gun violations

News

CAMPBELL, Ohio (WYTV) – A taxi driver in Campbell was arrested after police say he had a gun in his vehicle while under the influence of drugs.

Timothy Haught, Sr., of Salem, is facing several additional charges including possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Haught was initially pulled over Friday night for going left of center on Tremble Avenue. Officers said they smelled marijuana and searched the car where they found a gun and drugs.

Police said he had just dropped off a customer when they pulled him over.

“This is troubling because you had a man who has a fiduciary responsibility, a contractual responsibility to be sober for the other folks,” said Campbell Police Chief Drew Rauzan.

Haught did have a permit for the firearm.
