2015 STARTING FIVE_26151

We’ve hit the stretch run for this season’s Starting Five competition. And there are plenty of local boys and girls’ standouts making their push to make the cut. Here are a few contenders that caught our eye last week.

We begin in Western Pennsylvania, where Trey Staunch of West Middlesex is more than making his mark. He racked up 27 points last Friday night. That moves him into 5th place all-time in Mercer County boys’ history.

Sticking in P-A, Kennedy Catholic’s April Boscian tallied 21 points against Farrell, helping lead the Golden Eagles to their 20th win of the season.

Ursuline’s Greg Parella knocked down six triples and finished with 20 points against state runner-up Aquinas.

And last but not least, West Branch’s Pavin Heath tallied 14 points in a marquee win over South Range.
