New Middletown, OH (WYTV) – The Springfield boys basketball team held off a steady challenge from Girard to win, 49-43 on senior night at Springfield High School.
Head Coach Eric Fender earned his 100th career victory for the Tigers, who improve to 21-0 on the season.
It was a back and forth first half, but the Tigers led 28-25 thanks to a jumper by Graham Mincher as time expired. Springfield led 39-37 heading to the fourth quarter, and held off a late charge from the Indians.
Graham Mincher led the way for Springfield with 18 points, while Mark Schuler had 14.
Girard (17-5) was led by Dylan O’Hara with 18 points.
