Police to reveal new evidence in Poland, Boardman break-in ring

POLAND, Ohio (WYTV) – Poland, Poland township and Boardman Police Chiefs believe they have new DNA evidence that may help them break up the long-running cases of vehicle break-ins.

The three chiefs will gather Friday at 9 a.m. at the Poland Township Administration Building with the media to bring this new information to light.

The new evidence may help solve cases that date back to 2009.

Investigators believe the break-ins in Boardman mostly involved smashing windows and thieves in Poland only went after unlocked cars.

Poland police officers made three arrests in July 2014 that may be connected to this ring of automobile thefts.
