TOLEDO, Ohio (AP) – Youngstown Catholic diocese Bishop George Murry and other Ohio Task Force on Community-Police Relations members are holding a public forum.

The task force will meet with the public at the Scott Auditorium in Toledo at 4:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to Executive Order 2014-06K, Bishop Murry and the other 23 members of the task force will use the forums to seek input and comment from all Ohioans, especially from Ohioans in those communities at the heart of the crisis, which includes African-American males and their families

Ohio Governor John Kasich signed this executive order 8 days after the US Justice Department issued a report showing Cleveland Police’s pattern of using excessive force.

This is the third of four public forums the Task Force will hold. The last public forum will be held at University of Cincinnati on March 9.

The Community-Police task force will have until April 30 to present recommendations to the governor, Ohio Attorney General, Chief Justice of the Supreme Court of Ohio, president of the Ohio Senate and the Ohio House of Representatives.

A related task force created by Attorney General Mike DeWine also is reviewing possible changes to the way Ohio trains officers in the use of force.
