National Weather Service confirms tornado in Mercer County Tuesday

The National Weather Service of Pittsburgh has confirmed an EF – 1 tornado occurred Tuesday in Mercer County. 

The tornado formed just north of New Lebanon and had a maximum wind of 95 miles per hour. 

This is the sixth tornado in January in Pennsylvania since 1950. 

The National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for Mercer County just before 11 a.m. Tuesday.

The National Weather Service had also confirmed that a tornado moved through Trumbull County. It moved east across Mosquito Lake and into the western part of Cortland at a maximum speed of 95 to 100 miles per hour, according to the Weather Service.
