VIENNA, Ohio (WYTV) – School officials in the Mathews School District will decide Wednesday whether to fire a high school math teacher due to allegations of ineffective teaching.

According to the Tribune Chronicle, Superintendent Lew Lowery indicated that the Board of Education will act on Adam Brown’s status at their 6 p.m. Wednesday meeting at the high school.

Brown has been on paid administrative leave for the past year. A previous review indicted more than 50 percent of students were struggling in his class and were earning low marks through the end of the school year. .

In April 2013, the board began Brown’s termination process, following what it claimed were numerous complaints from students and parents about Brown’s teaching tactics and interactions with students.
