YSU organizations held the Hispanic Heritage Celebration on campus Saturday in honor of Hispanic Heritage Month.

The event featured music, dancing, cultural displays and vendors.

According to organizers, YSU’s events throughout the month celebrate who people are.

“We are interconnected in this community, and I think it’s important that we educate and maybe dismiss some stereotypes that are unfortunately out there about our culture. Because, at the end of the day, you know, we are one community,” said Ana Torres from the Hispanic Heritage Planning Committee at YSU.

The event was held in Kilcawley Center from noon to 4 p.m.
