YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Police arrested a Youngstown woman on Thursday after she allegedly threatened to kill her mother before stabbing her in the leg.
Officers were sent to the 500 block of N. Dunlap Ave. around 6:30 p.m. Thursday and heard a woman screaming in the house. They then found 38-year-old Carrie Schwab jumping on top of her mother on the couch with a 6-inch kitchen knife, according to a Youngstown Police Department report.
Schwab’s mother, Jacqueline Baxter, told police Schwab stabbed her in the leg during a struggle over the knife. She said the attack was unprovoked, and Schwab accused her of ruining her life before attempting to stab her in the neck.
Schwab was arrested and charged with felonious assault.
Police said Schwab repeatedly bashed her head against the divider cage in the police cruiser on her way to the jail, and she was taken to a confined cell until she calmed down.
