YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Ergia “Jean” Guarneri celebrated her 103rd birthday with family and friends on Saturday.

Over 50 of them gathered at the 5th Floor Restaurant in downtown Youngstown to acknowledge the milestone.

Born in Kensington, PA, Guarneri is one of 13 children. She just lost her sister, who lived to be 106, in December.

Guarneri grew up on Forest Avenue in Youngstown, and graduated from East High School in 1932.

She volunteered at Fellow’s Riverside Gardens for 25 years, and became the first manager when the new building was built. Before that, she was employed at Straus department store and the County Treasurer’s office.

An avid bowler, she played her last game at 100 years old.

Guarneri was married to Joseph, who passed away in 2004, for 65 years. She has three children, 23 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren on the way.
