A police chase in Youngstown ended in a crash on the south side on Thursday night.

The chase started when police said a suspect drove through a red light on Market Street at about 11 p.m.  According to the report, the driver sped up to get away from police after they activated emergency lights.

After driving at a high speed through several red lights, police said the driver lost control while turning onto Rush Boulevard and hit a tree at the intersection with Midlothian Boulevard.

The driver, Tysha McQueen, tried to run from officers and was caught on Potomac Avenue.

The report said McQueen told police she ran because she thought she had a warrant out of Boardman for driving without a license.

Police said McQueen was taken to the hospital for reported injuries.  She was charged with failure to comply and several traffic violations.
