Youngstown man charged after reported shooting on Garfield Street

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – A Youngstown man has been arrested in connection to shots fired at a man near Garfield Street and Overland Avenue.

The alleged victim told police he was driving down Garfield Street and turned north onto Overland Avenue when he saw Terrell Martin and another man who he said assaulted him two days prior. The man told police he feared for his life and saw a gun sticking out of the driver’s side window of the car, where Martin was sitting.

Two to three shots were fired at the victim, according to a police report. He said he managed to get away after a chase.

Police said no one was injured. Several empty shell casings were collected in the area.

Martin has been charged with felonious assault, and he was taken to Mahoning County Jail. Police have another suspect who has not yet been arrested.
