YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) - Friday night at the Elizabeth Missionary Baptist Church on Youngstown's east side, people gathered for a citywide prayer and unity service.
The service comes in the wake of two mosque shootings in New Zealand that killed 49 people.
Over 100 people, young and old, from all walks of life, were in attendance.
Guest pastors took turns with messages of hope and peace in the face of violence, crime and hate.
Reverends Dwayne Heard, Malinda Gavin and Juan Rivera were just some of the church leaders who united to pray for victims of violence and crime.
There were three large cakes, each with a special message, for a reception that followed the two-hour service.
