YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – The mother of the man prosecutors say masterminded a multi-million dollar fraud scheme is going to spend the next year under house arrest for her role in the case.

Rose Panezich, who lives in Las Vegas, appeared in a Mahoning County courtroom Tuesday afternoon and pleaded guilty to a count of engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity.

Prosecutors say Panezich was part of a group that was scamming customers by selling them phony sports memorabilia with forged signatures. They say she shipped the merchandise, which was sold on eBay, to victims of her son’s enterprise.

Prosecutors are calling Cliff Panezich the leader of the group. He is scheduled to appear in court next week.
