Candidate ousts sitting mayor in Wellsville race

Local News

WELLSVILLE, Ohio (WKBN) — According to unofficial voting returns, Bob Boley won the Wellsville mayor’s seat with just over 45% of the votes.

Four candidates ran for mayor this election.

Republican nominee Randy Allmon held the position after mayor Nancy Murray died unexpectedly this past spring. He wanted to increase the village’s tax base, clean up the roads and get their marina in working order.

Democrat Bob Boley told the Morning Journal that road conditions are a priority for him, as is hiring a grant writer to get the funds to fix them.

Jack Cataldo, who served as Wellsville councilman for 16 years, was also seeking the position as a write-in candidate.

Bradley Elliott ran as an independent.
