NEWTON FALLS, Ohio (WYTV) – Officials in Newton Falls have found and isolated the water main break in the city.

In a Facebook post Sunday afternoon, the city said they were searching for the location of the break for several hours.

It was important to find it before the situation got critical.

Newton Falls Auxiliary Police officers were going throughout the city to help find the break.

Around 6 p.m., there was an update that officials had found the break and shut down the escape of water from the system.

According to City Manager Dave Lynch, no residents or businesses lost any service and the water quality was unaffected.

Lynch wrote that he is thankful to the junior water main break detectives who helped locate the break.

Repairs will be made over the next several days, but they are online with water production replenishment and conservation is no longer needed.
