WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The Warren auditor accused of mailing white powder to his former boss will plead guilty to the felony charges against him, but will stay in office for now.

Anthony Natale is charged with one count of conveying false information related to the use of a weapon of mass destruction.

The city law director said the charges against Natale have nothing to do with his elected duties.

He is accused of mailing the powder in 2014 after being fired from American Business Center. Natale was elected to the auditor’s office in November of that year.

Even though the powder turned out to be harmless, it caused a panic at the Boardman business.

Ohio law states that a felony conviction would prevent Natale from staying in office.
