Out of six total candidates vying to become the next Mahoning County Court Judge, Molly Johnson came out on top Tuesday.
Molly is a 4th generation attorney at her families Canfield law firm, Johnson and Johnson.
In her practice, Molly says her work focuses on helping businesses start, grow and thrive in the Mahoning Valley.
Throughout her campaign, her two major platforms included re-instituting Mahoning County’s misdemeanor drug court, which was lost about five years ago and being tough on crime.
The judge-elect says she’s honored to soon be serving on the bench where she was born and raised.
“I’m ecstatic, so humbled and thankful and still sort of in a little bit of a shock, to be honest with you, I’m excited to hit the ground running and really looking forward to serving the people of Mahoning County,” she said.
Molly says her first day on the bench should be January 3.
She replaces Judge Dianne Vettori, who was suspended by the Supreme Court and is facing several criminal charges.
