Two men to appear in court following police raid

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two men are in the Mahoning County jail Friday morning after police raided a house they were in and found a few thousand dollars-worth of drugs, guns and money.

The Youngstown Vice Unit arrested 28-year-old James Abanathey and 30-year-old Darnell Jones during Thursday afternoon’s raid.

Officers searched the Northside home and found over $2,500 in cash, a third of a pound of marijuana ad two assault style rifles.

Police said there were two young children in the house during the search.

Abanathey is being charged with marijuana trafficking and a gun charge.

Jones is being charged with cocaine and heroin possession.

Both men will be arraigned in Youngstown Municipal Court Friday afternoon.
