Two drivers were killed after a head-on crash on Route 58 in Jefferson Township on Thursday afternoon.
Investigators identified the victims as 64-year-old Douglas Spurlock, of Greenville, and 33-year-old Nicole Gearhart, of Grove City.
Police believe that Spurlock was retired and Gearhart was a nurse with Grove City Hospital and a first responder with Superior Ambulance.
Gearhart had two children in her vehicle — ages 6 and 8. They are at a Pittsburgh hospital, recovering from their injuries.
The crash happened at 12:47 p.m. near Fulling Mill Road — between Mercer and Greenville.
A portion of the road was closed for several hours on Thursday during the investigation.
Jefferson Township police are handling investigation with help from a state police accident reconstruction team.
Police have not released details yet on how the crash was caused.
