YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – Two suspects escaped from the Heartland Behavioral Mental Health facility at 3000 Erie Street in Massillon, Ohio early Sunday morning.

The suspects are 22-year-old DeAngelo Young from Youngstown and 23-year-old Chad Vanhorn.

According to a police report, they assaulted two staff members and stole a vehicle from one staff member.

A Blue Alert was issued statewide, and received by Youngstown Police around 4:06 a.m.

Police received information that the suspects were on the south side of Youngstown in a different vehicle. At around 5:10 a.m., Youngstown patrol officers spotted and stopped the two men at South Avenue and Myrtle.

Young and Vanhorn were taken into custody without incident.

In August of last year, Young was charged with shooting a man at a gas station on Market Street, leaving the man paralyzed.
