PHILADELPHIA, Pa. (WYTV) – A handful of Trumbull County Democrats are attending the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia this week.

Some of them, like DNC Delegate At-Large Kathy DiCristofaro, are already in town.

“It has been very exciting. People are coming and going from the hotels to the convention center,” DiCristofaro said.

Others, like state Representative Sean O’Brien, are making there way there.

“What we’re trying to do and hopefully we’ll be able to do is unify the country, get a good platform across and get Hillary elected,” he said.

Thomas Letson, a local delegate for Hillary Clinton, said he will be campaigning for his candidate this week.

“We had some people that went other places in the primary, and you know, it’s time to bring those people home and have whatever discussion they’d like to have in order to show them how the path to Hillary is the correct path,” he said.

What Clinton supporters say they’re looking forward to most is witnessing history on Thursday.

“As a woman, waiting all this time, you know, to finally nominate the first woman from a major party. This is, you know, living history,” DiCristofaro said.
