HERMITAGE, Pa. (WKBN)- The 4th annual Truck of Hope campaign starts Monday at the Taylor Chevrolet of Hermitage.

This is the fourth year in a row Taylor Chevrolet in Hermitage has helped out the Community Food Warehouse of Mercer County by hosting the event.

Non-perishable items collected over the next seven weeks will be distributed among 30 local agencies, soup kitchens and food pantries in the county.

Organizers say the help is needed now more than ever.

“During the pandemic, Community Food Warehouse has had a 30% increase in the number of people coming for food assistance. In our community, there are over 14,000 people who are food insecure, not knowing where their next meal is coming from,” said Rebecca Page, a spokesperson for Community Food Warehouse.

Residents and businesses can drop off donations at the dealership until December 17.
