SHARON, Pa. (WYV) – A Sharon man has been charged with trying to rob a woman who was walking down S. Irvine Avenue Tuesday morning.

Akeem Deshawn Bolden, 18, was arrested and charged with attempted robbery, receiving stolen property and carrying a firearm without a license.

Police said a woman identified Bolden as a man who tried to rob her while she was walking near Davis Street. She told police that Bolden grabbed her by the throat and demanded she give him her wallet.

The woman said she wasn’t carrying a wallet, so Bolden and another man that he was with ran from the area.

Police found Bolden hiding behind a storage area near Walnut Avenue. A loaded pistol was found on the ground near him, according to police.

The pistol was found to have been stolen out of South Pymatuning.

Bolden was arraigned Tuesday and taken to the Mercer County Jail.

The other man who was with Bolden was identified and released after the victim reported that he was present but did not participate in the attempted robbery.
