It’s cleanup time in the Valley after last week’s storm, especially for one of the areas that were hit the hardest, Salem.
“Whenever we get a big storm, everything comes down at once,” said Jordan Strabala, owner of SOS Landscaping and Lawn Care.
Last Thursday was no exception. The result? Trees and wires down everywhere.
“It’s just a mess as you can see and it happens quick. We’ve got limbs down on the car,” Strabala said.
Strabala says it’s been a busy couple of days for his business. He even widened his services to tree pickup last year and hasn’t regretted it.
“We’re probably making two or three stops and then our dump truck’s full and we’re running out to our dump site which is just outside of town and we’re dumping and coming back and doing it all over again,” Strabala said.
For those who don’t want to pay, the city will pick up your branches if you leave them at the front of your yard, but it’ll take time.
Safety Director Ken Kenst says city streets are their priority, then limb removal and then leaf bags.
For landscaping businesses…
“We’ll have it done by nightfall and like I said, most cleanups take about an hour,” Strabala said.
It’s not the easiest job in this weather, but Strabala says he’s ready for anything.
“This Ohio weather… It’s always something different,” he said.
