SALEM, Ohio (WKBN) – As summer approaches, many people across the Valley will be spending more time in the sun. Doctors say it’s also a good time to talk about skin cancer.
Salem Regional Medical Center is offering free skin cancer screenings this month.
Dr. Linda Camp is offering them at her office in Salem by appointment only. She’ll be talking about types of skin cancer, protection against the sun and when to see a doctor.
Skin cancer survivors are especially encouraged to get checked out.
“So dark lesions that are changing, something new, something that used to come and go and now doesn’t go away anymore, all changing lesions that should be inspected. We do skin health and recommend it on a yearly basis, just like you go for your physical exam on a yearly basis,” Camp said.
