NEW LEBANON, Pa. (WYTV) – Route 173 was closed to through traffic in Mercer County from the intersection of Georgetown Road in New Lebanon to County Line Road in Frenchcreek Township due to storm-related damage to trees and utility lines.
Message boards had been placed to direct traffic along detour routes.
The road was expected to be closed until 8 p.m., according to the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
PennDOT urged motorists to slow down when driving in work zones and also to be alert to changing conditions, avoid distractions and to pay attention to signs and flaggers.
