COLUMBIANA CO., Ohio (WYTV) – The second phase of the safety improvement project at the intersection of State Routes 164 and 558 between Leetonia and Lisbon will begin earlier than expected.
Both roads will be closed starting on Monday and are scheduled to reopen before the Fourth of July.
The original plan was to begin on July 6, but the contractor decided to adjust the schedule so the roads would be open for the holiday. After July 4, crews will continue paving the surface.
SR 164, which closed June 13, is being detoured on US Route 30 east to SR 11 north to SR 344 east back to SR 164 south.
SR 558 traffic will be detoured on SR 517 west to SR 45 north back to SR 558 east.
Nine hundred feet of SR 164 and over 400 feet of SR 558 will be reconstructed to improve sight distance and roadway design.
The completion date is scheduled for August 15.
