Representative wants Kasich to pay Austintown for racino

Local News

AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – State Representative Michele Lepore-Hagan says the new racino in Austintown owes the township money, and she wants it to pay up.

Lepore-Hagan is calling on Governor John Kasich to make the $500,000 payment promised to Austintown.

In 2012 and 2013 Kasich signed two bills making the Ohio State Racing commission agree to give $500,000 per year, for three years, to racino communities in Ohio.

But, Lepore-Hagan said that as of Monday, 950 days after the first bill was signed, the payment has not been made.
