Proposal could mean open alcohol containers outside

YOUNGSTOWN (WYTV) –Ohio lawmakers are considering a proposal that would bring a little bit of Bourbon Street to the Buckeye state.

The idea is to allow for entertainment districts, where revelers could carry open containers of alcohol outside.

Cities with at least 50,000 people, like Youngstown, could have two districts.

Cities with at least 35,000, Warren, could have one.

Customers wouldn’t be allowed to bring their own drinks.

The proposal has passed the House and is awaiting a vote in the Senate.
