AUSTINTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) – An OVI checkpoint is taking place right now in Austintown.
It started at 10 p.m. Friday and will last until 2 a.m. Saturday.
The checkpoint is at 483 N. Canfield-Niles Rd.
Police will also be conducting saturation patrols throughout the county this weekend.
According to the Mahoning County OVI Task Force, OVI checkpoints are planned “to deter and intercept impaired drivers” and “to combat alcohol-related injuries and fatal crashes.”
