YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – At the height of the storms that rolled through the Valley overnight, there were nearly 15,000 customers without power.
As of noon Wednesday, about half of the power was restored but still left 3,381 in Columbiana County without service, 2,489 in Mahoning County, 299 in Trumbull County, 18 in Mercer County, and 293 in Lawrence County.
Some AEP customers in Columbiana County were also experiencing outages.
First Energy hopes to have power restored to all customers by Wednesday night, though some may not have power restored until Thursday night.
No injuries were reported during the storms, but there is property damage across the state.

TRAFFIC UPDATE. State Route 288 from the Dollar General to Hickernell road is closed to all traffic due to a large tree and wires down. Please find alternate route to Zelienople. At this time SR 588 is all clear. Crews will be working to get the road open as soon as possible. All of the necessary utilities have been notified and are working to restore everything. The remainder of 288 is open.
