When police entered the home, they found one man dead from a gunshot wound

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) – One man is dead after police responded to a disturbance call at a south side home in Youngstown Sunday night.

It happened on the 500 block of Lakewood Avenue at around 7 p.m., where there was a heavy police presence Sunday night and caution tape up on the road.

According to Youngstown Police, they responded to an unknown disturbance in the house. Upon arrival, they noted a number of people in front of the house in the street. When police entered the home, they found one man dead from a gunshot wound.

They later discovered that an argument had broken out between those inside the home and a woman shot the victim, reports say.

The woman is in the Mahoning County Jail. She is charged with homicide, the report says.

The identities of the suspect and victim have not been released and the relationship between the two is currently unknown.

This is the city’s ninth homicide of 2020.
