One dead in Tuesday morning mobile home fire in Newton Township

NEWTON TWP, Ohio (WYTV) – One man is dead in a mobile home fire in Newton Township early Tuesday morning.

The back bedroom of the man’s home in the Blue Water Manor Mobile Home Park was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived at around 3:30 a.m. The Warren Township fire chief says the victim was a man who lived alone. His name has not been released.

Neighbors tell WKBN the victim was in his 60s or 70s. He may have had a pet; there’s no word on what happened to the animal. No one else was injured.

Newton Falls, Lordstown and Milton Township firefighters also responded to the fire scene on Kings Way in the mobile home park. The home is totally destroyed. A few adjacent trailers sustained minor damage.

The Trumbull Fire Investigative Unit is at the scene, investigating. The trailer park is on Salt Springs Road in the township, close to the Ohio Turnpike.Check back with 27 First News at Noon or with for further updates on this breaking story.
