NILES, Ohio (WYTV) – A major water main break caused problems for water crews in Niles Monday morning.
The break happened around 7:30 a.m. in front of the Burger King on U.S. Route 422.
Joe Bell, a spokesperson with the Eastwood Mall, said mall businesses did not have water Monday.
Niles Police were out in the morning doing traffic control in the area, though traffic seemed to be moving fine by the afternoon.
Jim DePasquale, the Service Director in Niles, said it will take at least five to six hours for repairs. Gas lines and other utility lines are making it harder for crews to fix the break.
DePasquale said this is the sixth water main break Niles has had in the past six days. He said his department is short staffed and his employees are tired, but they are doing the best they can.
