MCDONALD, Ohio (WYTV) – The newest addition to McDonald’s Woodland Park is up and running, cooling off the village’s kids.
Officials turned the water on Monday morning at the park’s brand new splash pad.
Mayor Glenn Holmes said between buying the materials and having their village employees do the work, plus installing the park’s features, the project cost around $100,000, money that came from their general fund.
Holmes said the city’s council has been looking into doing a project like this for the past few years, and finally made it happen.
“It’s all about service, you know, community, God and country. That’s our three things here in McDonald. We want our children to be able to come to the park, experience something nice and we want to progress with the times,” Holmes said.
Currently, the splash pad is open Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
