NORTH JACKSON, Ohio (WYTV) – Interstate 80 just east of the Ohio Turnpike has reopened after nine vehicles crashed Wednesday.
Three semis and six cars were involved in the crash that happened just after 11 a.m. in North Jackson.
Troopers said all of the vehicles were headed west on I-80 when several cars came to a stop because of whiteout snow conditions.
One of the semis didn’t stop and hit a car and another semi, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.
That started a chain reaction crash.
One person was sent to the hospital with minor injuries.
Hazmat crews and firefighters had to come out to clean up a diesel fuel spill.
Traffic was delayed between State Route 46 and I-76, according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. The westbound lanes of I-80 were closed for a little under two hours.
