Man who says he ‘shot his lover’ in Masury pleads not guilty

WARREN, Ohio (WYTV) – The man who called 911 admitting to shooting his girlfriend in February appeared Wednesday in Trumbull County Court.

Marvin Jules, 33, pleaded not guilty to several charges including felonious assault, kidnapping, tampering with evidence and having weapons while under disability. Police said he shot and injured 54-year-old Lynda Campbell inside her Masury home.

Jules called 911 at the time of the shooting and told them he shot his girlfriend because he was jealous.

On the 911 call, Jules can be heard crying and telling a dispatcher to come save the woman he says he shot.

His bond was set at $100,000, with a $100 cash surety bond.

His pretrial is scheduled for April 14.
