YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WYTV) - A man received his sentence on Monday for shooting at Youngstown officers.
Gerald Wainwright will spend 35 years behind bars.
Police say he was walking down the street last year wearing a mask and carrying a backpack. When police tried to talk to him, they say he fired shots at them.
The officers returned fire and shot Wainwright in the neck.
The officers were investigated and cleared in the shooting.
Wainwright was found guilty of felonious assault weapons charges.
